The Village of Buckeye Lake is located in Fairfield and Licking counties and has an approximate population of nearly 2,800 and conveniently located only 30 miles east of Columbus.
Buckeye lake was created in the early 1900’s as the “Licking Summit Reservoir”, an important part of the Ohio and Erie Canal project.

Buckeye Lake offers boaters several launch options and a variety of restaurants and attractions such as Papa Boo’s, Buckeye Lake Winery, and Captain Woody’s, Fairfield Beach, and Cranberry Bog.

Buckeye Lake public schools are operated by the Lakewood School District, which includes, Lakewood High School, Lakewood Middle School, Jackson Intermediate School and Hebron Elementary School. Find out more about the school systems here.
